FBC Custodian Opening

Thank you for your interest in the Custodian Position at First Baptist Church of Chattanooga. We are seeking a fulltime custodian to work Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and one Sunday a month for 3-4 hours. 

Job Description:
- Clean assigned areas following cleaning procedures, sanitize all surfaces
- Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean and safe environment for members, staff and visitors
- Collects and disposes of trash following events
- Move equipment and furniture to set up rooms for events
- Shampoo carpets
- Clean, buff and wax tile floors
- Takes initiative to complete tasks and seeks out required cleaning
- Completes all other tasks assigned by supervisor
- Will need to work occasional outside events (concerts, weddings, conferences) on evenings or weekends (additional pay for these from the outside group)
- The ideal candidate would be able to interact and communicate well with congregation, staff, pastors, vendors and outside groups using the facility.
- Must be flexible with hours and duties.
- Must be able to present themself in a professional manner.

Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs
- Per church policy:
--All paid staff must pass a background check
--All new employees are subject to a 90 day probationary period
