Preschool/Children's Ministry

Student Ministry

Here at First Baptist we have many opportunities for youth. Each week we have something going on to plug-in to. On Sunday morning we have "The Filling Station" which a a time of Bible study starting at 10am. On Wednesday evenings starting at 6pm we have "FUEL." This is a time of life application study as well as missions study.

Young Adult Ministry

Imagine, for a moment, the following: college students playing disc golf while talking about what life is all about, 'Twenty Somethings' leading a mission trip to Africa, young professionals discussing faith and world events at an outdoor concert, graduate students rock climbing and sharing their faith stories, co-workers meeting at a museum to explore how God is at work in art, 'Thirty Somethings' playing hide and go seek on a retreat, college roommates serving the people of Chattanooga as a way to unwind.

Median Adult Ministry

At First Baptist, we encourage spiritual formation in numerous ways. In fact, we hope that everything we do helps people to grow in faith, whether they are participating in worship, group experiences, caring relationships, assisting with the work of our congregation or helping people outside our walls.

Senior Adult Ministry

Want fellowship? Want food? Want fun? Then First Friends at First Baptist is for YOU! We meet on the First Thursday of each month from September through May at our new time of 11:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall. We begin with a program that lasts approximately 45 minutes and then follow up with lunch.

Downtown Initiatives

First Baptist Church, through the work and coordination of the Downtown Ministry Committee, has defined four initiatives that reflect the talents, gifts and passions of our members: Homeless Persons, Life Enrichment University, Students and Parents at Battle Academy and the UTC Ministry.

Ministry Opportunities

First Baptist Church has always been a church with a heart for missions and ministry. Our mission endeavors begin within our walls and reach out to all of God’s creation. We have a strong relationship with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship on a state and national level. We also partner with the Hamilton County Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist Convention as well as other various local agencies and ministries.
