Music Ministry

Singing together brings us together.  As we sing together, we belong to one another in the song.

We agree, in effect, not to be soloists, self-absorbed meditators, or competitors, but to compromise with each

other, join our voices as if joining hands, listen to each, keep the same tempo,

and thus love each other in the act of singing.

For a congregation, its corporate song makes a theological statment:

Music is one of God’s greatest gifts. The Music & Worship Ministry of First Baptist Church provides individuals of all ages the opportunity to develop and use the gift of music in worship and service.  

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir serves as the primary music leadership in worship on Sunday mornings. Through choral music, ensemble and solo singing, and the support of congregational singing, this dedicated group of musicians serves faithfully each week. In addition to worship leadership, the Choir makes significant contributions to the seasonal emphases of the church year, including unique musical presentations for Advent, Christmas, Holy Week and Easter.

The Adult Choir is non-auditioned and rehearses Sundays at 6:00 p.m. in the Choir Suite.

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir is an integral part of the music ministry at FBC. In addition to regular leadership in worship, this choir participates in festivals and regular choir tours. The Youth Choir is open to all students in Grades 6-12.

They rehearse on Sundays at 4:30 p.m. in the Choir Suite.

Children's Choir

The Children’s Choir is an educational-based experience, meshing music fundamentals, singing development and worship education. The choir is for all school-age children, K-5, and meets as part of our children’s mission and music rotation on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in preparation to ring in morning worship and for seasonal services of the church. This choir is open to adults and high school ringers
